One day at a time is a show that for represent a lot of important topics, it counts with charming characters that are relatable to us especially to Latinos, it is full of humor and heartwarming moments that made odaat a very unique and special sitcom, while we wait for the next season, here I'll remind you of some of the most meaningful moments and my personal favorites.
Lydia's reaction to Elena’s coming out
In this episode a lot of com happened and with the pressure Elena had for coming out to her grandmother we all could feel the tensión,nevertheless, Lydia from her religious (Catholic) background could reach a good conclusión in an extremely fast way, something really pleasant that took off all that drama that is always present about this topic in other shows or movies with LGBT characters.
The quinceañera of Elena

Elena is always critic about sexist attitudes, at first she refuses to have a quin.. due to its original misogynistic meaning, Penelope ends up convincing her with a very particular way, giving a twist to the meaning and turning i into something positive:Elena to have the party as an action to everything that her mom could make being single, to show to everybody that her mom didn't need a husband to have a complete and happy family.
Bullying to Alex and xenophobia in the Trump era
A moment in wich lots can relate, odaat portraits again a reality that should not be true, as a matter of ignorance and hate some people refers derogatorily to Latin people only knowing them by stereotypes and how this attitude grows when its validated by power figures such as the current president of the US.
Penelope and depression

In hello Penelope, we view her story with depression, how she tries to hide it because of the stigma around the fact that she using medication for a mental health problem and how Lydia is trying to understand the reality of her daughter. This episode is tough because of the way it represents depression symptoms and how they affect the daily life of a person and their loved ones, a perfect episode to understand how is living with depression, this facing de misinformation and taboos about this topic.
End of the season: death, family and love

This end that made us smile and cry,a moving final season in which was Lydia is in a coma while each family member visited her to talk her about her importance in their lives, one of the latest scenes when she meets in dreams the love of her life, her deceased husband to take her with him but she knows well that isn't her time to pass away is honestly precious.
