Labels, everyone can use labels to define themselves,in the queer

community they define sexual orientation or gender identity that dont aline with the cis, hetero normativity from the ones that everybody knows like lesbian to the most complicated like akoisexual or genderfluid.

Everyone has de option to define themselves with one, more or neither of the labels,it may be impressive and overwhelming the number of different labels that exist,so we wonder is they are necesary, if they classify and restrict or in the other way they create freedom and empowerment.

It can be seen as unnecesary and even harmful to classify people to express their sexual orienation or gender identity, one of the main reasons of why people may argue this is that it can generate more discrimination and even entrench deeply the stereotypes and prejudices against the people with different sexual orientations and gender identity another point is that we often see how some people try to force a label on someone and even put some labels as more important than others which generates division.

''I realized i wasn't straight when i was 14 but i didn't really sorted everything out until summer last year when i was finalloy 100% comfortable with calling myself bi,the label is for me personally important so i understand myself since i struggled a lot with that'' - Manal

Labels are necessary when they create a sense of community of people who feel or identify the same way ,more than being 'gay' 'straigh' 'bi' that belonging sense is important since people can feel that they are not the only weirdos. The sense of community and the solidarity is an important part of the reason to exist of labels.

"i discovered that i wasn't straight in freshman year of high schoolbecause i realized i liked a girl in a non-platonic way and i agree labels dont really need to be used to often in my opinion. its nice to identify with someting but i dont think i should promote it any chance i get"

Labels take a great relevance in that way,and also because its goal is to give an especific name for an especific struggle since every opressed gorup claim for their rights with a label to make themselves visible por the normative society.

The most important thing is to remember that labels only makes sense when its purpose is to visibilize and empower the fight for the rights and the positive social recognzement, which means that they are not intrinsecally good or bad.The use of labels for division or clasification is roundly toxic since it not only generates pressure inside the movement but also the internalized lgbtfobia the cause that many people doesnt want to be seen as part of the comunity.

When someone use the label to claim an struggle and to show pride to be different that is the real importance to idetify as 'gay' or 'trans',because it looks for the right to be who you are with freedom and without trying to fit in the standart.

'' I realize i am bisexual when i accepted feeling atracted to a girl , however i still liked boys .I really dont thik it is necesary to have a label but is important to clear our feelings and feel free to decide ehat we want and think''

The need to force labels is a defensive actitude about what is known and its recognized as important part of the comunity with a reason and a story.Despite this without caring about the opinions or reasons why someone wants to label or not him/her self (sometimes a cause of stereotipes) it should be something that comes from inside and that allows to feel free.

Is often the case that even whith an umbrella term like queer someone decides that its own identity or its no identity with the no-normative makes them an embassador of equality and the fight for the rights and freedom. With or without label anyone that feels part of the movement no matter if its L,G,B,T,or just Q they should be included and taked into account in the solidarity that its made from being different from what people has taught us we should be.
